Let me share a little bit about myself so that we can be better acquainted.

My Journey to White Peony Organics

I'm the owner of White Peony Organics, a wife, and a mom of a freshman in college and a junior in high school. My kids certainly keep me on my toes but are becoming increasingly self-sufficient as time flies by. I also have an amazing husband who has been working remotely from home since 2020. This wasn't always an ideal situation for me. I was used to being alone most days to do whatever housework, home styling, or relaxing that my heart desired. Once Covid hit and everyone was remote, that's where I first felt a shift in myself.

During these last five years, I learned a lot about myself and what I was experiencing. Initially, I thought it was just anxiety of the unknown, much like everyone else in the world. But as time went on, and more recently, I realized that maybe it was something more. This was my moment of clarity and the reason I decided to start a business.

Owning my own business has always been a dream of mine. My passions have always been drawn to creativity and aesthetics. While those interests still resonate, I wanted to turn my attention to something more meaningful and deeper than just objects — the well-being of women.

My Personal Shift: Discovering Perimenopause

I started White Peony Organics because I wanted to live with more intention instead of just going through the motions of everyday life. Since I turned 40, I noticed I was slowly developing symptoms like constant fatigue, lack of energy, dry hair, skin, and nails, mood swings, increased anxiety, hot flashes, unexplained weight gain, and sleepless nights, among others.

Now that I'm 45, I finally realized what it truly was: perimenopause. I actually thought perimenopause and menopause were the same thing. Through hours of internet research and talking to my mom and doctor, I now understand they are very different and occur at distinct points in a woman's life. I also know I still have time before the inevitable happens to make some positive changes.

Creating a Space for Peace and Well-being

So I am shifting my focus to managing my overall health and well-being. Meditating, journaling, and just breathing correctly (yes, there is a correct way to breathe) has helped. Intentionally doing things that evoke a sense of peace and calmness on a daily basis has helped tremendously.

Think back to a time when you were completely relaxed. For me, it was a spa in Las Vegas. I still think about it. The scents, the sounds, the instant feeling of calm as soon as I entered.  My mind was immediately at ease. This has also led me to pay more attention to the environment around me and the products that I am using on my skin and in my home. I am making more of an effort to consciously choose items that are made from natural ingredients that won't harm me, my family, my pets, or the earth.

That's why I created White Peony Organics. My mission is to empower & support women on their journey to well-being, honoring nature and the wisdom of our bodies. I believe that true self-care is a practice of growth.

Providing the essentials to create a sacred sense of home by inspiring intentional living as a way to build a foundation of peace, right where you are. Making you feel seen, cared for, and utterly at home in both body and environment.

This is a space for rest and remedies. Practical wisdom and gentle guidance for women navigating perimenopause.

Thanks for taking the time to get to know me. I look forward to getting to know you as well!
