Our Story
Hi there,
I’m Nicole and I'm so glad you're here!
Let me share a little bit about myself so that we can be better acquainted. I am a new business owner, wife and mom of a freshman in college and a junior in high school. My kids certainly keep me on my toes but are becoming increasingly self sufficient as time flies by. I have an amazing husband who has been working remotely from home since 2020. This wasn't always an ideal situation for me. I was used to being alone most days to do whatever housework, home styling or relaxing that my heart desired. Once Covid hit and everyone was remote, that's where I first felt a shift in myself. During these last 5 years is where I learned a lot about myself and what I was experiencing. Initially, I thought that it was just anxiety of the unknown, much like everyone else in the world. But as time went on, and more recently, I realized that maybe it was something more. This was my moment of clarity and the reason I decided to start a business.
Owning my own business has always been a dream of mine. My passions have always been drawn to creativity and aesthetics. I have an extensive background in home decor and diy. That is where my journey began. My love of making any room in my home feel cozy and inviting and also doing it on a limited budget has lead me to where I am today. Those values still resonate with me however, I want to turn my attention to more than just objects.
I started White Peony Organics because I wanted to start living with more intention instead of just going through the motions of everyday life. Since I turned 40, I started to notice that I had been slowly developing symptoms of having constant fatigue and lack of energy, dry hair, skin and nails, mood swings, anxiety, hot flushes, unexplained weight gain, sleepless nights, the list goes on. As I've gotten older, I just turned 45 this year, I finally realized what it really was. Enter perimenopause. I actually thought perimenopause and menopause were the same thing. Through hours of internet research and talking to my mom and doctor, I now know that they are very different and are presented at different points in a woman's life. I also know that I still have time before the inevitable happens to make some changes.
So I am shifting my focus to managing my overall health and well being. Meditating, journaling and just breathing correctly (yes there is a correct way to breathe) has helped. Intentionally doing things that evoke a sense of peace and calmness has helped tremendously. Think back to a time when you were completely relaxed. For me it was a spa in Las Vegas. I still think about it. The scents, the sounds the instant feeling of calm as soon as I entered. My mind was immediately at ease. This has also led me to pay more attention to the environment around me and the products that I am using on my skin and in my home. I am making more of an effort to consciously choose items that are made from natural ingredients that won't harm me, my family, my pets or the earth.
That's what I want to help you create. A sense of peace and tranquility in an ethically conscious way. Giving you the tools to create a healthier environment that is peaceful.
I want this to be a place where you can come to find tips, tricks and tools to enable you to be your best self.
